Effective Communication: How to achieve it! (24.01.2012)

On Tuesday 24th  January 2012 our Club held its second Professional Development Event for the 2011-2012 period, once again at the House of the European Union in Nicosia.

Rotaractors, friends and other guests had the pleasure of enjoying a presentation titled “Effective Communication: How to achieve it” , given in Greek by Mrs Andrie Penta.

The presentation was a synopsis of the most important “tools” of communication (such as tone of voice, hand gestures, eye contact, correct use of words etc) and how we can use these tools effectively in every aspect of our life, whether in a professional context or in a social one.

The presentation provided an overview of the differences in verbal and non verbal communication through useful examples as well as a practical guide on how everyone can use these “tools” and of course a few tips on the ever important social networking.

The end of the presentation was followed by a brief Q&A session where any remaining unanswered issues were clarified by Mrs Penta.

Guests, friends and Rotaractors then had the opportunity to socialize and put the nights teachings in practice at the reception area of the House of Europe where refreshments and nibbles were offered for all.
